A Cape Cod–based tour company
Meet the Owner & Operator
I’m Sean Whelahan, owner operator of 6A Tours.
I bring more than 25 years of experience in the travel and service industry, with a career that has taken me from the tranquility of Alaska, to the wildlife of Africa, and the rugged beauty of the Australian Outback. Those experiences shaped how I approach travel; not as a checklist, but as something meant to be felt and remembered.
My connection to this region runs even deeper. My family’s Cape Cod heritage dates back to the early 1920s, before the Bourne and Sagamore Bridges were built (back when the Cape truly felt like a world apart)! This unique personal history, combined with my professional background and deep local knowledge, allows me to offer a perspective few tours can.
Today, I’m proud to be a trusted, hands-on leader in the Cape Cod tourism community, personally guiding guests through the places, stories, and moments that make this region so special.

How 6A Tours took shape on Cape Cod
More Than History. A Local Perspective
My mission isn’t simply to educate you on Cape Cod’s history—you can watch a documentary for that.
Instead, I help you experience Cape Cod from a local’s point of view.
I’ll show you what it’s like to live here. To move through the Cape at its natural pace. To understand the rhythm of the villages, the coastline, and the back roads that most visitors never find.
Cape Cod is often called a peninsula, but in spirit it’s an island. A man-made island, yes, but an island nonetheless. And once you’re here, experiencing it properly, you’ll understand exactly what that means.
A story shaped by lifelong connection to the Cape.
Where Experience, Heritage, and Cape Cod Come Together
6A Tours was born from a lifelong connection to Cape Cod and decades spent exploring the world.
Named after historic Route 6A, our company reflects a belief that the best journeys are personal—shaped by stories, perspective, and a deep sense of place.

This isn’t just a tour business. It’s a continuation of a legacy.

Decades of experience exploring the world
A Global Perspective on Travel
For more than 25 years, Sean Whelahan worked in the travel and service industry, guiding guests and travelers across some of the world’s most remarkable landscapes—from the quiet beauty of Alaska, to the wildlife of Africa, to the vast openness of the Australian Outback.
Those experiences taught an important lesson:
travel isn’t about how much you see—it’s about how deeply you experience it.

That philosophy is the foundation of every 6A Tour.
Life on the Cape
More Than History — A Way of Life
You can read about Cape Cod’s history or watch a documentary anytime.
What you can’t get from a screen is the feeling of being here—the rhythm of the roads, the character of the villages, the quiet moments along the water.
That’s what 6A Tours is about.
Cape Cod may technically be a peninsula, but in spirit, it’s an island—a man-made one, perhaps, but an island nonetheless. And once you experience it properly, that distinction makes perfect sense.
In the spirit of this island's friendly nature, we extend a warm thank you to
